Studied architectural technology and graduated in 2004 as an interior designer from the Utrecht School of the Arts. Moved to Vienna in 2006. Worked for various firms, including Vasko&Partner ingenieure, Zieser Architekt and BEHF Corporate Architects. Moved back to the Netherlands and began working for XS Architecten in 2015. His aim is “to look for creative solutions in architecture based on a positive view of life”. His greatest driving force is his leaning towards innovation, expressed in acquiring knowledge and researching materials and forms. Other passions include astronomy, technology, sports, good food and wine, mountains and mushrooms.

With a solid foundation as architectural technician from the Technical College in Ede and the college of Arnhem and Nijmegen, graduated in 2013 from the Academie van Bouwkunst in Arnhem. This period gave rise to his passion for architecture: Venustas, firmitas & utilitas (Vitruvius), the combination of beauty, strength and utility for the built and non-built environment. To Theo, these are the three pillars of a sound architectural foundation. Aims for smooth, transparent cooperation among all parties, where the interests of the client take priority. In addition to architecture, he is passionate about music and plays drums in two bands of very different styles; lives in Wageningen with his girlfriend Sandra and their Weimaraner dog, Jacob.

In addition to my work as project manager and apiarist, I like to relax by enjoying good food and drink, and travelling.”

Following a project in the built environment – from the drawing board to after-sales assistance – is what fires his imagination. “I prefer to work on projects right from the very start! The first thing I ask myself is: what line does the environment draw?’’ As well as work, plans are underway for lots of different things, including some sport, taking short trips and enjoying the sun.

As a designer, his interests lie in functionality, efficiency and sustainability. As well as being passionate about architecture, he is also a big fan of photography, keeping fit, being a DJ and travelling to distant places.

Graduated in 1991 in Delft and spent the subsequent years working as a freelancer for various firms of architects. Then recruited by FBW architects, where she worked on cool projects in the Netherlands and Tanzania and met some interesting people. Employed by XS Architecten since November 2015. Thinks that the implementation phase is the best part of the entire building process because that’s where everything finally comes together.
Lives in Bilthoven with 2 sons (born 1999 and 2002). Takes walks in the surrounding woods and enjoys the proximity of the city.
Graduated in 2015 with a Master of Arts in Interior Architecture from the Peter Behrens School of Arts in Düsseldorf. As part of her studies, Darja spent a semester at Virginia Tech University in the USA, where she discovered her passion for travelling, living and building in other cultures. Following her studies, she worked for a year as a junior interior designer in Düsseldorf, before moving to Amersfoort in 2017 to work for XS Architecten.
Darja enjoys music, dancing and choreographing dance. “I believe that spaces can also be choreographed. I call it Routing.”

Outside XS, Stephanie works as a volunteer for World Services within the content team and is co-organizer of the annual running event, Running De Bilt.

Returned to the Netherlands and worked for Teha elementen B.V. and, since 2018, XS Architecten. Over the years, became seriously fascinated with the obvious role of spatial and auditory perception in architecture. So his goal is to search for creative solutions in which the idea of the design and the phenomenal spatial and auditory experiences flow together seamlessly. Married, father, lives in Zwolle. Other passions include travel, calligraphy and photography.

She always wants to have new adventures and enjoys travelling, learning foreign languages and playing sports.

Graduated in 2005 from the ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Zwolle, specializing in interior architecture. Then worked for various design consultancies and as a freelancer, transitioning from London to Heerenveen and from landscape architecture to interior design.
A sober Frisian who is nontheless passionate about perception architecture, particularly in a museum context. Big fan of tennis, cycling, yoga and sushi.
Has lived in Soest with his wife, daughter, dog and cat since 2018.
